The International Book Fair of Torino celebrates its twenty fifth anniversary in 2012. Created from an idea of Guido Accornero and Angelo Pezzana, a historic Torino bookseller, on the model of the Paris Salon, overcoming it in terms of the wealth and variety of contents and the number of visitors, reaching the peak of European events in the sector. |

Superslim computers, tablets and smartphones, digital technologies increasingly portable, powerful and cheap, able to ensure constant connections, are radically changing the way of thinking, writing, communicating, publishing, reading and selling. With these are the production, the distribution and acquisition of intellectual products: from newspapers to books. This phenomenon goes well beyond the future of e-books or the destiny of paper publishing.
The Turin International Book Fair will host from 10th to 12th May 2012 the eleventh edition of the IBF – International Book Forum, a business area which offers the possibility for purposeful meetings among Italian and foreign publishers, literary agents, and film, TV and new media producers from all over the world. 
On the 25th anniversary, for the first time in its history the International Book Fair calls up not one but two guest countries: Spain and Romania. Two countries located at the geographical extremes of the Latin-based language and culture, which will both be present at Lingotto Fiere as Guests of Honour with equal dignity.
To tell the story of these twenty five years in a lively and unconventional fashion, and at the same time give a glimpse of the metropolis that will come, the International Book Fair and the Circolo dei lettori have joined their forces and created the project for La Città Visibile, the Visible City. Torino 1988-2012 >>, in the sense of fast forward.
